People with brain tumors and their care partners may face significant challenges when it comes to getting to their medical appointments, coordinating transportation, meals, and more, and getting support in their community. Fortunately, resources are available to help individuals navigate these challenges and ensure that they receive the care they need.


211
211 is a national helpline to find community support and social services such as housing, food programs, and healthcare expenses.

Air Charity Network
Air Charity Network provides free air transportation to specialized health care facilities or distant destinations due to family, community, or national crisis.

American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society provides programs and services for patients during and after treatment for cancer including a 24/7 helpline, lodging through Hope Lodge, rides to treatment, and a cancer survivors network for connections.

Healthcare Hospitality Network
Healthcare Hospitality Network provides lodging and support services to patients and their caregivers while they are receiving medical treatment away from their home communities.

Hope Lodge
Hope Lodge provides patients with cancer and their caregivers lodging when out of town for treatment through the American Cancer Society.

Joe’s House
Joe’s House provides a lodging guide for patients with cancer and their families to find a place to stay when traveling away from home for medical treatment.

Mercy Medical Angels
Mercy Medical Angels provides free transportation by air and by ground to patients who are unable to afford long-distance travel to receive healthcare.

Miracle Flights
Miracle Flights provides free flights to those in need of life-changing medical care not available in their local communities.

National Volunteer Transportation Center
The National Volunteer Transportation Center supports volunteer driver programs, shared vehicle utilization, and ride sharing initiatives and provides a map of available programs in each state.

Patient AirLift Services
Patient AirLift Services (PALS) provides free medical flights to people requiring diagnostic, medical treatment, or follow-up care who have a financial or compelling need.

Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) provides information on traveling with disabilities and medical conditions, a TSA notification card, and passenger support through TSA Cares.

United States Department of State
The U.S. Department of State compiles resources for travelers special considerations and disabilities such as traveling with assistive equipment and medical considerations.

CaringBridge
CaringBridge is a free, online tool and application to communicate health news to family and friends and coordinate help. Available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

CircleOf
CircleOf is an application that gives family caregivers the power to organize, collaborate, and ask for extra help. Available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

ianacare
ianacare is an application that helps patients, families, and other volunteer supporters coordinate team-based care. Available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Lotsa Helping Hands
Lotsa Helping Hands is a website and an application that allows families and communities to organize care teams to help someone in need. Available through web-based platform, the Apple App Store, and Google Play.

Meal Train
Meal Train provides a way to organize meal giving around significant life events for family and friends.
